A fond place for an outing by locals, and perhaps one of the most visited destinations in Hobart by visitors, this mountain stands proud against the backdrop of the City of Hobart at 1200feet and is easily accessible by car.

THE SPRINGS.

KUNANYI/ MOUNT WELLINGTON..

Grade:  Level 1 - no bushwalking experience required. 

Duration (walking): 10 minutes return

Found part-way up Kunanyi/ Mount Wellington, this short walk will give you a fabulous view across the city of Hobart, further east and down the channel.

The walk starts at a small car-park, where visitors can also find toilets, a bbq shelter and coffee. From the car park, follow the track marked for 5 minutes to reach the lookout.

LOOKOUT.

KUNANYI/ MOUNT WELLINGTON..

Grade:  Level 1 - no bushwalking experience required. 

Duration (walking): 

Just before reaching the Mount Wellington's summit, stop at this car park to absorb the view of Hobart City and beyond, framed by the basin-like form of the terrain. If you are planning on exploring further, Big Ben walking trail also starts here on the opposite side of the road. 

ORGAN PIPES.

KUNANYI/ MOUNT WELLINGTON..

Grade:  LEVEL 3 - Good level of fitness with 400meter elevation along well-maintained walking track.

Duration (walking): 3 hours return (3.7km)

The Organ Pipes Track is well worth the visit. Perhaps one of the most spectacular and easily accessible tracks on Kunanyi/ Mount Wellington. This track winds its way gently up part of the mountain, and gives incredible views across Hobart and beyond.

The track starts at The Springs, and will take 3 hours return. Alternatively, a small car-park is available at the top end at the Chalet. This will allow you an easy down-ward descent to under-neath the iconic Organ Pipes before returning. 

A great short-walk amid the fauna and flora of the mountain, or even a great place for enthusiastic runners.

THE PINNACLE.

KUNANYI/ MOUNT WELLINGTON..

Grade:  LEVEL 1 - no bushwalking experience required. 

Duration (walking): 

The most popular, and summit of Kunanyi/ Mount Wellington, this lookout can be reached by car, a network of walking tracks or the public shuttle bus. A circular car-park around the summit caters for the lookout, with a short walk out to both western and eastern lookouts - as well as a viewing room on the Hobart City (eastern) side with information.
