HOBART
During your time in Stanley, walking up The Nut is most traveller's main destination to start off their adventures for this region. Located right behind the main streets of the historical town of Stanley, you can easily spend several hours exploring the plateau. The strange and abrupt geological formation can be seen from kilometres away along the Cradle Coast, and in turn, the views from on top or equally, if not more, staggering.
Up on top of The Nut, the vegetation shifts from grazing areas, button grass, rocky outcrops and bushland areas (southern side). Views from up on top are incredible and well worth the walk up. Alternatively, there is also a chair lift if visitors prefer this way of getting up.
Once up, follow the Summit Circuit track (see map below) to explore the area.
